Travel from New York Metro Airports to Hofstra University
Best transport from any airport is Limousine service which can be arranged in advance from several transport companies found through airport web sites or your travel agent
From JFK Airport:
Car - depart JFK airport onto Belt Parkway East which turns into Southern State Parkway East, Proceed to exit 22 North, Meadowbrook Parkway to Exit M5 West, Hempstead Tpke, one mile to Hofstra University.
Train – Board AIRTRAIN from airport platform going to Jamaica Station, proceed to Long Island Rail Road ticketing window for daily schedule and platform information for train going to Hempstead Station. Bus or taxi connection may be made for short ride to Hofstra University from outside Hempstead Station.
From LaGuardia Airport:
Car – LGA onto Grand Central Parkway East which turn into Northern State Parkway East, proceed to exit 31 south, Meadowbrook Parkway to exit M5 West, Hempstead Tpke one mile to Hofstra University
Train –(not recommended) Take MTA busses and or subways to Long Island Rail Road Queens Village Station ticketing window for daily schedule and platform information for train going to Hempstead Station. Bus or Taxi connection may be made for short ride to Hofstra University from Hempstead Station.
From Islip Airport:
Car – Depart airport turning right onto RT 454 going north to Northern State Parkway West to exit 31 South (JONES BEACH exit) to Meadowbrook Parkway, Exit M5 West onto Hempstead Tpke, one mile to Hofstra University
Train – Board train shuttle bus to Long Island Rail Road Ronkonkoma Station. Take train West to Westbury Station Then short taxi to Hofstra University.
From Newark Airport, New Jersey:
Car – Depart airport onto Rt 1-9 south merging onto NJ-81 South, exit I-95 South (toll road ), exit 13, onto I – 278 to Varrazano-Narrows Bridge upper level, stay in left lane to exit 25A, Belt Parkway East which turns into Southern State Parkway East, Exit 22 North onto Meadowbrook Parkway to exit M-5 West, Hempstead Tpke, one mile to Hofstra University.
Train – From terminal Board AIRTRAIN to Newark Liberty Airport Train Station, Take either NJ Transit or Amtrack train to New York City Penn. Station, proceed to Long Island Rail Road for information of schedule and departure schedules for Hempstead Station. Bus or taxi connection may be made for short ride to Hofstra University from outside Hempstead Station.
